Today on the podcast we are talking all about SHOES! It’s a lot more than going to your big box sports store and picking out cute ones. We’ll talk about why good shoes are important, how to choose the right ones, and how to know when it’s time for new ones. (This may even give you permission to go buy some!)
My first experience with real running shoes was the fall of 2003. I was Eight months pregnant with my first child, and after a day of working I waddled my swollen feet into a local running shoe store. The extra weight and worn out kicks were making walking rough. After a gait analysis and trying on several pairs, I slipped into a pair of Saucony’s. Cue the chorus of angels. I’ve never felt such comfort.
I’ve purchased a LOT of shoes since then, and especially as we age I feel like this is one of best things we can do to protect ourselves from injury.
Today episode focuses on:
- Why good shoes are important
- How to choose the right ones for you
- When to know it’s time for new ones
I talk about how I wear out my own shoes. Check out the tread on the inner two (old) vs. the outer two (new). The heels and ball of the foot are worn down on the inner ones.

And that weird big toe thing? Here you go. Got any ideas of what’s causing it? Reply and let me know!

Thanks for tuning in. As always, have a graced day.
